Driven Brands

The Automotive Training Institute (ATI), the largest coaching and training company for owners of independent repair shops in the US and Canada, engages over 1,700 shops in our program and helps them increase gross profits by nearly $3.0 billion through coaching, training and a buying program.

Job Description

The Executive Coach & Peer Group Facilitator is ATI’s highest‑touch client‑facing role. This position serves CEOs, owners, and C‑suite leaders of automotive repair businesses, requiring credibility, discretion and the ability to operate at the intersection of business strategy, personal leadership and organizational growth.

The role operates across three distinct contexts:

  • Individual coaching – building trusted advisor relationships and translating business data into clear priorities.
  • Peer group facilitation – convening CEO‑level groups to enable candid exchange, breakthrough thinking and sustained accountability.
  • Strategic planning facilitation – leading high‑stakes annual planning engagements for Platinum alumni to turn ambition into aligned action.
Core Responsibilities

Executive Coaching

  • Carry an individual coaching portfolio of CEO and C‑suite clients, maintaining scheduled one‑on‑one engagements per client and ATI program standards.
  • Build deeply trusted advisor relationships based on candor, accountability and genuine investment in each client’s growth.
  • Guide clients through goal‑setting, priority alignment and business performance review using ATI’s coaching frameworks, tailoring the approach to each individual.
  • Support clients through high‑stakes decisions, organizational challenges, leadership development, and personal inflection points.
  • Maintain accurate coaching records, track client progress, and surface insights that inform ATI’s program development.

Peer Group Facilitation

  • Facilitate regular in‑person meetings of CEO and owner‑level peer groups, maintaining trust, candor and productive challenge.
  • Prepare for each session with intention by providing relevant industry content, timely business topics and thought‑provoking questions to prompt engagement.
  • Leverage ATI’s position as an industry SME to introduce emerging trends, benchmarks and best practices; invite internal or external subject matter experts when appropriate.
  • Actively seek expertise from outside the automotive industry to bring fresh perspective and broader context into sessions.
  • Manage group dynamics, drawing out quieter members, redirecting unproductive conversations and ensuring every participant receives value.
  • Monitor member engagement, flag retention risks and partner with ATI leadership on outreach and re‑engagement strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of facilitation resources, session frameworks, and content that strengthens ATL’s peer group program.

Strategic Planning Facilitation

  • Facilitate annual strategic planning meetings for Platinum alumni, moving beyond peer exchange to structured organizational planning at the executive level.
  • Design and lead sessions that clarify vision, align on priorities, surface internal tensions, and deliver actionable plans.
  • Adapt facilitation approach to each client organization’s size, maturity and strategic context; no two planning engagements are identical.
  • Maintain continuity between the coaching relationship and the planning engagement, using familiarity with the client’s business and team dynamics to make the session more targeted and productive.

Business Development & Client Retention

  • Identify referral opportunities within existing client relationships and introduce prospective members to ATI’s executive programs.
  • Maintain high client retention through quality and consistency of coaching and facilitation.
  • Represent ATI at industry events, conferences and professional gatherings as a credible executive‑level voice.

Program & Team Contribution

  • Contribute to the evolution of ATI’s executive coaching and peer group methodologies – documenting effective practices, flagging gaps and collaborating with leadership on program improvements.
  • Mentor and support less experienced coaches and facilitators; model the standard for executive‑level client engagement.
