The Manager of Product Operations is responsible for establishing product operations standards, including tools, methods, ways of working, reporting, and governance. This role helps the product organization operate consistently, transparently, and accountably as GTI matures its product management practices.

The Manager of Product Operations owns project and roadmap tracking, product reporting, operating rhythms, and management of the Product Owner function. The role partners closely with the Director of Product and Launch & Enablement teams to ensure roadmap decisions, backlog practices, launch handoffs, and stakeholder reporting are structured and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain product operations standards, including intake, prioritization, governance, roadmap management, backlog hygiene, reporting, and release handoff practices.
  • Own product tools, templates, dashboards, operating rhythms, and methods that support consistent ways of working across product domains.
  • Manage the Product Owner function, including capacity awareness, practice consistency, coaching, backlog health, stakeholder engagement, and role expectations.
  • Maintain portfolio, roadmap, and project tracking for active and upcoming initiatives, including status, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and owners.
  • Prepare clear reporting for product leadership, executive stakeholders, governance forums, and cross-functional partners.
  • Help facilitate product operating forums such as intake reviews, roadmap reviews, backlog health reviews, planning sessions, and cross-functional alignment meetings.
  • Partner with the Director of Product to operationalize prioritization frameworks, roadmap decisions, tradeoff discussions, and value tracking.
  • Partner with Launch & Enablement to connect delivery status, release scope, and readiness planning.
  • Define and monitor product operations metrics such as backlog health, cycle time, initiative aging, dependency resolution, adoption readiness, and reporting quality.
  • Identify process gaps, remove friction, and continuously improve how product work is planned, tracked, communicated, and governed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product operations, product management, program management, business operations, project management, or related roles.
  • Experience establishing operating models, governance routines, reporting standards, tools, templates, or product management ways of working.
  • Experience managing or coaching Product Owners, Product Managers, Business Analysts, or similar product delivery roles.
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery, backlog management, product roadmaps, portfolio tracking, dependency management, and release handoffs.
  • Advanced ability to create executive-ready reporting, dashboards, status narratives, and decision-support materials.
  • Experience with product/project tools such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Aha!, Productboard, Smartsheet, Power BI, Microsoft Planner, or similar platforms.
  • Strong facilitation skills and ability to create structure in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Comfort working with technology, operations, finance, compliance, support, and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience in regulated, healthcare, public sector, or multi-state operating environments, preferred.
