About the Job
The Lead Assistant Superintendent will support the Superintendent by overseeing all aspects of field construction, coordinating subcontractor work, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance for multifamily projects.
Responsibilities- Act as a representative and advocate of JPI’s Culture and Guiding Principles.
- Oversee the management of safety, ensuring all safety measures are implemented daily and that safety scores remain above a 95 average per quarter.
- Manage the SWPPP program, ensuring all procedures are followed daily.
- Oversee all field operations, monitoring workmanship and material quality on the project.
- Ensure personnel schedule city inspections, third‑party inspections, and document JPI internal quality control measures.
- Ensure all project goals are met.
- Schedule subcontractor work, including mobilization and deliveries, in coordination with the Superintendent.
- Co‑create schedules with the Superintendent, ensuring project goals are being met.
- Assist in minimizing project costs.
- Generate all schedules assigned by the Superintendent in written form.
- Ensure photo documentation is taken, labeled, and recorded into Procore daily by team members.
- Create, monitor, and retrieve responses to RFIs.
- Conduct weekly safety and production meetings with subcontractors.
- Supervise and delegate work to Assistant Superintendent, Punch Carpenters, and Laborers, ensuring safety, SWPPP, production, and quality standards are met.
- Serve as the Superintendent whenever the Superintendent is not available.
- Close out projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction or related field is preferred.
- 4–6 years of experience preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of construction experience with at least two years of supervisory experience.
- A minimum of three years of multi‑family construction experience required.
- Must be familiar with multi‑family construction procedures.
