Construction Foreman – Job Description

Join our dedicated team at Samaritan's Purse as a Construction Foreman. You will guide and empower teams of skilled and non-skilled volunteers, ensuring high-quality project standards while fostering a collaborative spirit rooted in faith and safety.

Location:

Watauga County (Boone, NC)
• Buncombe County (Asheville, NC)
• Yancey County (Burnsville, NC)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain personal relationship with Jesus Christ and serve as an effective witness.
  • Partner with Project Superintendent, Volunteer Coordinators, and Logistics Coordinators to design and construct homes.
  • Engage with on‑site volunteer teams, providing hands‑on training and support.
  • Uphold highest quality standards by overseeing project progress, ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines, and maintaining exceptional craftsmanship.
  • Lead safety training sessions for all team members on‑site, fostering a culture of safety.
  • Safeguard all materials and equipment at job sites through strict inventory control.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws and codes.
  • Review and streamline project paperwork alongside Volunteer and Logistics Coordinators and Project Superintendent.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
  • One‑year certificate from a college or technical school and 3–6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with all aspects of residential home construction, from layout and foundation work to final inspection.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of the construction industry and processes.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Highly effective communication skills.
