Construction Foreman – Job Description
Join our dedicated team at Samaritan's Purse as a Construction Foreman. You will guide and empower teams of skilled and non-skilled volunteers, ensuring high-quality project standards while fostering a collaborative spirit rooted in faith and safety.
Location:
Watauga County (Boone, NC)
• Buncombe County (Asheville, NC)
• Yancey County (Burnsville, NC)
- Maintain personal relationship with Jesus Christ and serve as an effective witness.
- Partner with Project Superintendent, Volunteer Coordinators, and Logistics Coordinators to design and construct homes.
- Engage with on‑site volunteer teams, providing hands‑on training and support.
- Uphold highest quality standards by overseeing project progress, ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines, and maintaining exceptional craftsmanship.
- Lead safety training sessions for all team members on‑site, fostering a culture of safety.
- Safeguard all materials and equipment at job sites through strict inventory control.
- Conduct thorough inspections to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws and codes.
- Review and streamline project paperwork alongside Volunteer and Logistics Coordinators and Project Superintendent.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- One‑year certificate from a college or technical school and 3–6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with all aspects of residential home construction, from layout and foundation work to final inspection.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of the construction industry and processes.
- Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
- Highly effective communication skills.
