Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee industrial electrical construction projects across North Carolina. This individual will be responsible for managing field operations, coordinating manpower, driving schedule performance, maintaining safety compliance, and ensuring quality execution on complex industrial projects, including manufacturing facilities, processing plants, distribution centers, pharmaceutical facilities, water/wastewater plants, and heavy industrial environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience working for an electrical subcontractor and possess a hands‑on understanding of industrial power systems, controls, instrumentation, and large‑scale electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all on‑site electrical construction activities from mobilization through closeout.
- Supervise field electricians, foremen, subcontractors, and temporary labor.
- Coordinate daily and weekly work plans with project management teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and construction documents.
- Coordinate with general contractors, owners, engineers, and other trades on‑site.
- Monitor productivity, manpower loading, and installation quality.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and enforce OSHA compliance.
- Identify and resolve field conflicts, delays, and constructability issues.
- Track material deliveries, equipment usage, and procurement needs.
- Assist with scheduling and sequencing of electrical installations.
- Maintain accurate field documentation including reports, inspections, RFIs, and as‑builts.
- Support commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.
- Mentor foremen and junior field personnel to support long‑term team development.
Experience working on one or more of the following project types is highly preferred:
- Manufacturing Facilities
- Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences
- Food & Beverage Facilities
- Data Centers
- Water / Wastewater Plants
- Distribution & Logistics Facilities
- Chemical / Petrochemical Facilities
- Automotive Manufacturing
- Heavy Industrial Construction
- 5+ years of experience in electrical construction supervision.
- Previous experience working for an electrical subcontractor in industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Industrial power distribution
- Motor controls
- Instrumentation
- Cable tray installations
- Switchgear & MCCs
- Low & medium voltage systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, one‑lines, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage fast‑paced industrial construction schedules.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across North Carolina and surrounding states if required.
- OSHA 30 Certification
- NCCER Certification
- Electrical License (preferred but not required)
- Experience with BIM/VDC coordination
- Experience managing crews of electricians
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software
