Serve Your Community as a Youth Services Librarian at Eva Perry Regional Library in Apex!
Engage directly with our youngest Wake County citizens as a Youth Services Librarian. You will share the magic of the library, delivering captivating programs, offering personalized service, and working at a service desk. Your role will create unforgettable experiences that inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning.
Key Responsibilities- Create Engaging Programs: Design and implement dynamic programs for children of all ages to spark curiosity and joy.
- Lead Confidently: Take charge in the absence of the library manager(s) to ensure smooth operations and support colleagues.
- Collaborate with Passion: Work with a dedicated team to brainstorm, plan, and execute programs, projects, and maintain collections.
- Build Strong Community: Establish and nurture relationships with the community, promote library services, and provide excellent customer service, reference, and readers advisory services.
Education and Experience )
- Master's degree in Librarianship or related field (MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML) from an ALA accredited program or NC program.
- No specific experience required; equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted.

- Coursework in youth services.
- One year of professional librarian experience working with children.
- Spanish language skills.
- Knowledgeable and enjoys working with children birth through teens and their caregivers.
- Skilled at presenting programs to children.
- Excels at providing customer service.
- Energetic, motivated, detail-oriented, and flexible.
- Great technology skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Maintains knowledge of library trends in Youth Services.
- Builds and maintains positive and respectful working relationships.
Location: Eva Perry Library, Apex, NC 27502
Employment Type: Regular
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, including Wednesday evenings and every 4th weekend.
Hiring Range: $26.16 – $37.81 per hour
Salary Range: $26.16 – $37.81 per hour
