Job Description

Summary:

Provide instruction that fulfills the requirements of the NC Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy and the North Carolina Community College System for Clinical Massage courses. Provide Instruction of AB Tech. Clinical Massage Curriculum in didactic, skills, clinic, and supervision of diverse students.

Duties
  • Teach courses specific to the clinical massage program, meeting or exceeding requirements/regulations of the North Carolina Community College System and North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy.
  • Model world‑class service in a hands‑on educational environment that emphasizes whole‑body wellness.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies, maintain safety and sanitation of the department, complete and maintain student grade and attendance records.
  • Be aware of standards and be able to adjust to varying roles as an adjunct Clinical Massage Instructor.
  • Establish rapport with coordinator, instructors, clients, peers and students.
Minimum Requirements
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited institution and two years’ documented exceptional work experience as licensed massage therapist.
  • Currently holds North Carolina State Board of Massage and Bodyworks license in good standing.
  • Experience teaching adults.
  • Experience in clinical massage subject matter.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in field pertinent to massage therapy.
  • Community college teaching experience in therapeutic massage.
  • Five years’ documented exceptional work experience as a licensed massage therapist.
  • Education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
