Job Overview
NC State University, through the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, is hiring an EFNEP Educator, Program Assistant / Associate (Youth and Adult). The position is full‑time, 12‑month recurring, and located in Gastonia, NC. The role is split 75% 4‑H Youth Programming and 25% Adult Programming.
Essential responsibilities include recruiting and enrolling limited‑resource adults and school‑aged youth, delivering nutrition education in group and individual settings, conducting food demonstrations, and maintaining program records. The candidate will travel within the county, district, and state using a personal vehicle, collaborate with local agencies, recruit volunteers, and promote EFNEP and other Extension programs.

- High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating concepts
- Experience or interest in working with limited‑resource families and youth
- Experience teaching or working with limited‑resource adults/youth desired
- Valid drug test required; background check may be conducted
