• Ph.D. in Biology or related field
• Postdoctoral experience in eukaryotic cell biology and a research program that addresses fundamental principles of life at the cellular and molecular levels
ABD status will be considered for this position. Evidence of successful defense of the dissertation must be received by July 31 for a fall hire or November 30 for a spring hire. If confirmation is not provided by the deadline, the candidate will receive a one‑year fixed‑term contract and be hired at the rank of Instructor with a reduced salary. If degree verification is provided before the end of the one‑year contract, the candidate will be returned to the rank of Assistant Professor with commensurate compensation beginning July 1 of the following academic year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Teach a sophomore‑level Cell Biology course and develop an advanced course in the applicant’s area of expertise.
• Periodically participate in the first‑year biology sequence.
• Engage undergraduate and graduate students in research, providing mentorship and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Develop a research program competitive for external funding that complements or synergizes with department programs.
Full Time, 9 months per year, 1.0 appointment. Physical demands: the individual must be able to perform essential job duties. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
