The Director of Outreach and Engagement for the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy (FWSOP) is responsible for developing and coordinating initiatives that promote engagement with students, alumni, academic and professional partners, and the broader community. This role focuses on celebrating and sharing the accomplishments of the FWSOP community, coordinating outreach activities, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and supporting School-level visibility efforts through collaboration with the University’s communications and advancement offices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training Bachelor’s degree in education, nonprofit management, public affairs, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).Experience in alumni relations, stakeholder engagement, higher education, or outreach coordination preferred.

Skills and Competencies Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.

Comfortable gathering, organizing, and drafting content for newsletters, reports, and digital updates.

Familiarity with social media platforms and engagement strategies, with the ability to adhere to university policies.

Proficiency in design and engagement platforms such as Canva, Mailchimp, or similar tools to create visually appealing outreach materials.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic academic environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Outreach and Visibility Coordination Identify and gather stories and updates that showcase the accomplishments of FWSOP students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Collaborate with the University’s Office of Communications to share relevant content and updates for publication across institutional platforms.

Maintain an active presence for the School on designated social media and digital platforms, in alignment with university guidelines and in partnership with University Communications.

Support School-led initiatives that highlight the impact of FWSOP on the campus and community.

Stakeholder and Alumni Engagement Foster meaningful connections with alumni through outreach efforts, events, and periodic updates.

Coordinate School-specific alumni initiatives in alignment with University Advancement’s alumni engagement goals.

Maintain and update alumni contact records in coordination with university systems.

Support efforts to involve alumni in mentoring, preceptor development, and networking opportunities.

School Publications and Highlights Lead the coordination and production of the FWSOP newsletter and annual report, gathering content from faculty and staff, and collaborating with relevant university offices for formatting and distribution.

Maintain a calendar of School events, accomplishments, and milestones to inform internal updates and external engagement efforts.

Community and Academic Partnerships Serve as a point of contact for community organizations and academic institutions seeking engagement with the FWSOP.Develop and support opportunities for collaboration with professional associations, healthcare organizations, and academic partners.

Represent the FWSOP at external outreach events and meetings to foster goodwill and promote collaboration.

Other Duties Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Dean or designee.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reports to FWSOP Dean Work Environment Occasional evening or weekend availability for events and outreach activities.

Office setting with frequent collaboration across faculty, staff, and external partners.

Some travel may be required for alumni, community, or partnership events.
