Job Description
Minimum 1+ years visually impaired experience required.
Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Location: Washington, North Carolina
Job Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods
- Provide instruction in Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists
- Assess and adjust instructional strategies
- Advocate for visually impaired students
- Participate in professional development
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education (Visual Impairments) or related field (Masters preferred)
- Valid North Carolina teaching certification in Visual Impairments
- Experience with visually impaired students
- Proficiency in Braille and assistive technology
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
