Compensation

$18/hour, 20-29.5 hours per week

Position Summary

The JCPC Youth Development Professional (YDP) is responsible for assisting in the planning, organization, and implementation of Boys & Girls Club Positive Action program with a strong focus on supporting youth ages 6-17. This position will be dedicated to running the
Positive Action program
, an evidence-based interpersonal skill-building program designed to help higher at-risk youth develop positive behavior, self-management, and interpersonal skills. The YDP will serve as a role model and leader, creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where youth can grow and succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the
    Positive Action program
    with fidelity, ensuring lessons are delivered in a way that engages participants and fosters positive behavioral outcomes.
  • Track participant attendance, lesson completion, and progress to support case management and program reporting requirements.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with youth, acting as a mentor and positive role model.
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment that promotes respect, teamwork, and personal growth.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with staff, parents, and community partners as needed.
  • Support the mission and values of the Boys & Girls Club through consistent professional conduct and enthusiasm for youth development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the Club.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred (youth development, education, behavioral health, or related field).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth in a program, camp, school, or community setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with youth ages 6-17, particularly those identified as higher risk.
  • Passion for working in behavioral health, youth development, and character education.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track participation and program outcomes.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and maintain discipline in a group setting while fostering a supportive, positive atmosphere.
