Adjunct Communication and Business Leadership (CBL) Instructor
The Nido R. Qubein School of Communication at High Point University seeks an Adjunct Communication and Business Leadership (CBL) Instructor to teach a course, Persuasion and Negotiation (CBL 5200) starting January 6, 2027. The course description states that business people need analytical skills to discover optimal solutions to problems but need persuasion and negotiation skills to get them implemented. The course asks students to learn persuasion and negotiation skills experientially and to understand communication strategies via analytical and theoretical frameworks.
The class emphasizes readings, simulations, exercises, and case study analysis. Successful applicants will be assigned to teach this course as a hybrid online with in-person meetings for High Point University in the upcoming Spring 2026 semester or placed in our adjunct pool for future consideration to teach additional CBL courses.
Applications received on or before October 1, 2026 will be given priority consideration.
Qualifications Required- Preferred an earned doctoral, or terminal degree, in Management, Business, Leadership, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Management, Business, Leadership, or a related field, with experience in the topic to be taught.
- Any graduate degree earned outside the U.S. will require a degree equivalency review (i.e., by World Education Services www.wes.org).
- Collegiate teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
- Professional experience in negotiation positions is preferred.
- Successfully teach Persuasion and Negotiation at the Master’s degree level.
- Accountability:
Must answer student emails promptly and be willing to schedule occasional appointments to meet with students. These can be done via phone or virtually.
