GSL Education Newcastle Branch are currently seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with a school in Hartlepool
. This is an opportunity to provide individual and small-group support to students who may need additional assistance with learning, communication, behaviour or emotional development.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEN.
- Assist Special needs children with classroom tasks and learning activities.
- Help students follow instructions and participate in lessons.
- Support the development of communication, social and independent learning skills.
- Encourage positive behaviour and build students' confidence.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to meet individual needs.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Previous experience supporting children or young people as an SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable.
- Experience working with SEN students, education, childcare or a similar setting would be beneficial.
- A patient, calm and consistent approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting student wellbeing and development.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.
