The Department of Athletic Training is part of this dynamic community, focused on preparing future professionals in health and sport-related fields.

This is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure faculty position at the Assistant or Associate rank in the Department of Athletic Training, with a defined promotion pathway. The faculty member will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in athletic training and related areas, using evidence-informed teaching strategies and assessment methods. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing course materials, delivering lectures and labs, advising and mentoring students, supervising clinical or experiential learning, and participating in curriculum development.

The role also involves engaging in scholarly or professional activities, contributing to departmental and university service, and collaborating with colleagues to support program accreditation and quality improvement. This is an on-site role located in High Point, NC, requiring regular campus presence for teaching, office hours, meetings, and university events.

• Advanced knowledge in athletic training, sports medicine, or related health sciences, with the ability to teach core content in the discipline.
• Demonstrated skills in classroom and laboratory teaching, curriculum design, and student assessment in higher education settings.
• Commitment to student mentoring, advising, and inclusive education, with the ability to support diverse learners.
• Capacity to engage in scholarly, clinical, or professional activities that contribute to the field of athletic training.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills for effective work within departmental and interdisciplinary teams.
• Relevant professional credentials (such as certification as an athletic trainer and eligibility for appropriate state licensure) are highly beneficial.
• Earned terminal or appropriate graduate degree in Athletic Training or a closely related field, in line with accreditation and institutional requirements.
• Experience with accreditation standards, program assessment, and continuous improvement in health professions education is a plus.
