Description

of Work

The position of Engineering Plan Reviewer is unlike that of any other. You will become part of a team that strives to become better every day. The work performed by the Construction Section is unique in that it will at some point touch the lives of every resident of the State. As an Engineer Plan Reviewer, you will review engineering work (plans and specifications) including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection for all health care, social care and detention type facilities requiring licensure and/or certification by state and federal government.

Salary Range: $63,927 - $111,871
Recruitment Range: $63,927 - $89,610

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to review building plans and specifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the NC State Building Codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing technical construction and/or engineering information.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be available to travel within the State, including some overnight travel (2-3 days a month).

This position will close at 11:59 p.m. the night before the end date.

Mission Overview

DHSR Construction Section regulates the physical plant compliance of all licensed health care, residential care and jail facilities in North Carolina. Our Mission Statement is centered on making sure that all patients, residents, and inmates are provided with a safe and suitable environment. Blending office time with travel time in the field, this position is for a motivated and energetic person who wants to be a part of a team that impacts positive changes for the citizens of North Carolina.
