Surveying Technician

About the Role

FEI is seeking a Surveying Technician to support land development surveying projects through accurate preparation of survey maps and exhibits. This is a technical office-based role focused on producing high-quality surveying deliverables and coordinating closely with Survey Project Managers to meet project schedules and budgets.

This position is intended for candidates with prior land surveying experience, not general CAD-only drafting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surveying maps and exhibits using Carlson and AutoCAD, including:
    • Plot plans
    • Topographic surveys
    • ALTA/NSPS surveys
    • Boundary surveys
    • As-built surveys
    • Final plats and other survey deliverables
  • Work with Survey Project Managers to produce accurate deliverables within established budgets and schedules
  • Submit plats and survey maps to governmental agencies for review and approval
  • Maintain high standards of work quality and compliance with FEI policies and procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with survey staff and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant land surveying experience
  • Proficiency with Carlson and AutoCAD in a surveying environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • CAD certifications related to surveying
  • Associate's degree in Geomatics or related field
  • Experience with Ajera expense and timesheet systems
  • Interest in long-term growth within the surveying profession
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Office-based position
  • Mon-Thu: 7:30am-5:30pm | Fri: 7:30am-11:30am
