The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes for engineered fibers and performance materials. Day-to-day activities include designing process workflows, monitoring production parameters, implementing process control strategies, and troubleshooting equipment or process-related issues to ensure quality and consistency. The role involves collaborating with R&D, operations, and quality teams to translate material designs into robust, scalable manufacturing processes and to support continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a full-time, on-site position located in the Greensboro–Winston-Salem–High Point Area, requiring regular interaction with production lines and testing facilities. The Process Engineer will also document procedures, support new product introductions, and contribute to safety, efficiency, and cost-optimization efforts across the facility.
- Candidates should possess skills in Fiber Process Engineering and ideally
- Chemical Engineering, with experience in manufacturing or materials processing environments.
- Candidates should possess skills in Process Design and Process Control, including developing process parameters, scaling up production, and maintaining stable operating conditions.
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills, including data analysis, root-cause investigation, and performance optimization using quantitative methods.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Beneficial experience includes working with polymers, extrusion systems, fiber or yarn production, and in-house testing for mechanical and durability properties.
- Additional desirable skills include familiarity with statistical process control, Lean or Six Sigma methods, and proficiency with engineering software and data analysis tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and adhere to safety and quality standards is essential.
