PositionSenior Manager of Costing & Inventory Management

As a Senior Manager of Costing & Inventory Management, you will:
- Lead all aspects of actual costing and inventory valuation processes.
- Develop and maintain accurate product cost models, including labor, material, and overhead allocations.
- Analyze manufacturing variances, inventory reserves, and margin performance.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve cost visibility and operational efficiency.
- Oversee inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and distribution inventory.
- Ensure accurate inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes.
- Monitor inventory accuracy, obsolescence, excess inventory, and reserve methodologies.
- Establish and maintain strong SOX/internal controls over inventory and costing processes.
- Lead inventory audit support activities and coordinate with external auditors.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities related to inventory and cost accounting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting schedules.
- Deliver inventory and cost‑related KPIs, dashboards, and operational analytics to leadership.
- Conduct profitability and margin analysis by product, customer, or business unit.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, FP&A, and supply‑chain leadership.
- Provide financial guidance on operational initiatives, process improvements, and capital investments.
- Support ERP implementations, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across inventory and costing processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cost accountants and inventory finance professionals.
- Build scalable processes and organizational capabilities to support business growth.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, consultants, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing finance.
- Strong knowledge of inventory costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing accounting.
- Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, industrial, or related industries.
- Multi‑site or global manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems such as Visual, Syteline, and Epicor.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks preferred.
- Experience leading ERP implementations or finance transformation initiatives preferred.
- Advanced data analytics and reporting capabilities (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, etc.) preferred.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent leadership and people management capabilities.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across operations and finance teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
