It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. Description of Work Reporting directly to the Warden at a medium custody male correctional facility and reporting indirectly to the Division Audit Administrator, this position's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Providing hands on guidance and assistance to the section heads within their assigned facility (or facilities) regarding ACA and PREA audits.
2. Providing technical guidance to the Warden(s).3. Coordinating internal compliance audits, safety and health audits and inspections and region inspections as well as ensuring all standard operating procedures and post orders are in compliance with audit standards and division policy.
4. Serving as a coordinator for monitoring the strategic plan, the key performance indicators and as the Facility Public information officer.
5. Working collaboratively with other prison section heads, the Warden, the Region Director, the Region Compliance Manager, the Division Audit Administrator, Director of Performance and Standards and other Division Directors to develop strategies for enhancing prison operations, using the results of operational audits, and other measures developed by this section.

Documented knowledge of prison policy and procedures and/or facility operations.

Documented experience with report writing.

Documented knowledge of federal PREA compliance procedures.

Documented knowledge of audit and inspection procedures in corrections.

Documented experience working with internal and external stakeholders.

This position is expected to be available on October 1, 2026 .This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business needs.

About Warren Correctional Institution Warren Correctional Institution is a mixed custody facility that houses minimum, medium, and close custody offenders. The current capacity of Warren CI is 809 male offenders, with most offenders being housed in medium custody. Offenders at Warren Correctional Institution may work at the Correction Enterprises Janitorial Products Plant, gaining marketable job skills and self-confidence participating in the manufacturing of soap and cleaning products.

Offenders at Warren Correctional Institution may also participate in vocational training and educational courses to earn their HiSet/GED. They may also participate in the At Both Ends of the Leash (ABEL) program, which provides an opportunity for offenders to train service animals for individuals with medical diagnoses or physical disabilities.
