** What You'll Do:
** The Solid Waste Enforcement Officer position is responsible for increasing recycling participation, reducing contamination in the municipal solid waste stream, and promoting compliance with the City's Solid Waste Ordinance. This is accomplished through a combination of education, outreach, inspections, and enforcement to ensure that the City's residents and businesses properly separate recyclable materials from solid waste and comply with applicable ordinances.
The Solid Waste Enforcement Officer is responsible for promoting awareness of the City's Solid Waste Ordinance, investigating violations, and implementing strategies that improve operational efficiency, increase recycling participation, reduce contamination, and discourage illegal dumping.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Solid Waste Collections Superintendent.
** Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Serves as the enforcement lead in multiple functional areas for the Solid Waste Collections Division and interprets and enforces the City's Solid Waste Ordinance.
• Ability to safely operate an Automated Side Loader (ASL), Knuckle Boom, and Hook Truck to service illegal dumping sites and provide coverage for residential collection routes as needed.
• Investigates and coordinates compliance with the Solid Waste Ordinance as it relates to illegal dumping, litter abatement, improper disposal of solid waste, and participation in the City's recycling program.
