Overview
Vascular Sonographer position in the WFBMG University Group Practice: WFBMC Main - Cardiology:
Vascular Laboratory. Part-time status with 1st shift, various schedules. Pay range: $32.45 - $48.70 per hour. Education, experience and certifications required and related responsibilities are described below.
- Verifies physician's orders and reviews patient record prior to exam.
- Performs basic vascular ultrasound testing according to accredited vascular laboratory protocols, ensuring patient comfort throughout the exam.
- Recognizes and documents abnormal pathologies according to imaging protocol as necessary to support diagnosis.
- Provides physician detailed preliminary report.
- Enters measurement data and final report into cardiovascular reporting system.
- Ensures equipment is cleaned and functioning in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.
- Enters charges into electronic medical record.
- Graduate of CAAHEP vascular sonography program or comparable experience with RVT or RVS credentials required. New graduates must obtain RVT or RVS credential within one year of hire.
- BLS certification required.
- Competencies in: ABI, Arterial Doppler (no intervention), Carotid (no intervention), Aortic (no intervention), Saphenous vein mapping, Exercise ABI, DVT Upper/Lower extremity required.
This position requires light to moderate physical effort with lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies. Requires sitting, standing, reaching, bending, pushing and pulling. Intact sense of sight and hearing required.
