The Opportunity

CACI’s Enterprise IT (EIT) Sector is seeking a skilled Cloud & Virtualization Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud and virtualization infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud virtualization solutions to support our mission‑critical applications and services. This role requires both strategic planning and hands‑on technical expertise to ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions aligned to site survey, design and implementation activities.

You’ll contribute to delivering high‑performance, secure, and modern network solutions that enhance mission readiness across Army CONUS locations.

Responsibilities
  • Design and architect cloud and virtualization solutions to meet business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive architecture documentation, including diagrams, workflows, and technical specifications.
  • Deploy and configure virtual machines, storage, and network components in a cloud environment.
  • Manage cloud resources, including compute, storage, and networking, to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations and reduce manual intervention.
  • Collaborate with network engineers to integrate virtualization solutions with existing network infrastructure.
  • Ensure seamless communication between virtual and physical network components.
  • Implement security best practices for virtualization and cloud environments.
  • Analyze virtualization and cloud environments for performance issues and bottlenecks.
  • Optimize resource utilization and implement scaling strategies to meet changing demands.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of virtualization configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Prepare reports on system performance, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and work with cross‑functional teams to resolve incidents.
  • Provide daily supervision and direction to staff.
Qualifications Required
  • US citizen with ability to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Technical bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study (High School diploma or associate degree plus a minimum of 15 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • 10 years in virtualization technologies and cloud computing.
  • Proven experience with VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar virtualization platforms.
  • Experience in architecting and implementing large‐scale cloud and virtualization solutions.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Power Shell) for automation.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Desired
  • Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain higher‑level clearance as needed.
  • Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.
  • Knowledge of Dev Ops practices and tools.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Cloud Formation.
  • Experience working with DoD programs.
