What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of IT General Controls (ITGCs) and IT Application Controls (ITACs), collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure all SOX-related risks and compliance requirements are effectively managed.
• Partner with internal audit, finance, IT teams, and external auditors, offering expertise in risk assessment, control evaluation, and remediation to ensure the organization’s IT infrastructure adheres to regulatory and compliance standards.
• Perform annual and ongoing IT risk assessments to identify critical IT areas affecting financial reporting and compliance.
• Develop and manage IT control testing processes, including walkthroughs, control assessments, and remediation activities.
• Coordinate with external auditors on control testing and remediation efforts, ensuring alignment with timelines and objectives.
• Identify and implement opportunities for streamlining and automating SOX controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Prepare and present comprehensive IT SOX compliance reports to executive management and external auditors, communicating key findings and updates.
• Cultivate a collaborative and compliance-focused environment within IT and throughout the organization.
• Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing IT SOX compliance team, fostering growth and development.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• Minimum of 8 years of IT audit, IT compliance, or IT SOX experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Strong experience in ITGCs, ITACs, and SOX requirements specific to IT environments
• Excellent communication skills to present complex information to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows applications

It’d be great if you also have:

• Experience in project management practices, including reviewing and managing projects through the SOX life cycle and system implementation.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion, HFM, SAP and Blackline.
• Solid research and problem-solving skills.
