Optomi, in partnership with an industry leading healthcare organization are seeking a seasoned Wireless Network Architect with deep expertise in healthcare environments to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of secure wireless infrastructure across our clinical and administrative facilities. This role is pivotal in enabling seamless connectivity for critical medical devices, electronic health records (EHR), telemedicine platforms, and mobile care teams.
Key Responsibilities- Healthcare-Centric Architecture
:
Design and maintain wireless networks tailored for hospitals, clinics, and remote care settings, ensuring high availability and low latency for mission‑critical applications. - Clinical Integration
:
Collaborate with biomedical engineering and clinical informatics teams to support wireless integration of medical devices, nurse call systems, and real‑time location services (RTLS). - Security & Compliance
:
Implement robust wireless security protocols aligned with HIPAA, PCI and other healthcare regulations. Ensure secure segmentation of patient data and IoT traffic. - Performance Optimization
:
Conduct RF site surveys in complex healthcare environments, accounting for interference from medical equipment and building materials. - Mobility Enablement
:
Support mobile workflows for physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, including BYOD policies and secure guest access. - Disaster Recovery & Redundancy
:
Architect resilient wireless networks with failover capabilities to support emergency operations and continuity of care. - Vendor & Technology Evaluation
:
Assess and recommend wireless solutions with a focus on healthcare‑grade reliability.
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering, with 5+ years in wireless architecture
- Strong knowledge of Wi‑Fi 7, 6/6E, 802.11 standards, and healthcare‑specific wireless technologies (RTLS, telemetry)
- Experience with tools like Ekahau and Hamina
- Experience with network access control systems and methodology
- Certifications such as CWNA, CWDP, CCNP Wireless, or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience with Extreme Networks products
- Experience in hospital or multi‑site healthcare network deployments
- Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) and their wireless dependencies
- Knowledge of IoT and mobile device management (MDM) in clinical settings
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration with clinical and IT teams
