Preferred Data Corporation is a leading provider of IT solutions. We are seeking a motivated Junior Hardware Technician to join our dynamic team and contribute to ensuring seamless technology operations for our clients.
The Technician will support the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and peripheral equipment, working closely with senior technicians and providing technical support to end users.
Responsibilities- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues, coordinating with senior technicians to resolve complex problems.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on hardware systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with inventory management of hardware components and spare parts.
- Provide basic technical support to end‑users, escalating issues as needed.
- Document all service activities, including repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with the IT team to support network and software‑related tasks as required.
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Associate’s degree or certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, including CPUs, RAM, motherboards, and peripheral devices.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux) and basic networking concepts is a plus.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (travel to client sites).
- CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent preferred but not required.
