Dev Ops Engineer (Test Automation & Performance Focus)
Flexible / Hybrid (Preference for candidates within travel distance to Greensboro, NC or East Coast)
6-Month Contract (Strong likelihood of extension)
We’re partnering with a growing, product-focused organization seeking a hands‑on Dev Ops Engineer with a strong emphasis on test automation, performance, and scalability.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early‑to‑mid in their career who thrives in an environment where they can own automation and Dev Ops practices end‑to‑end, rather than being one piece of a large team.
What You’ll Be Doing- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for a web‑based platform
- Own UI test automation using tools like Selenium, Playwright, Spec Flow, or similar
- Lead performance, load, and scale testing to validate real‑world system behavior
- Identify performance bottlenecks and collaborate with engineering teams to improve system reliability
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Azure Dev Ops)
- Enhance test coverage, execution speed, and reporting capabilities
- Continuously improve Dev Ops workflows and reduce manual processes
- Own and evolve Azure Dev Ops pipelines
- Ensure seamless integration of build, testing, performance validation, and release workflows
- Improve feedback loops for earlier identification of performance and quality issues
- Troubleshoot pipeline and environment issues independently
- Act as a key bridge between Development and QA
- Take full ownership of automation, performance testing, and Dev Ops processes
- Work autonomously in a high‑trust, low‑oversight environment
- Communicate risks, findings, and recommendations clearly across teams
- Early to mid‑level experience in Dev Ops or test automation roles
- Strong hands‑on experience with automated testing for web applications
- Experience with UI testing frameworks
- Background in performance/load testing and scalability validation
- Working knowledge of C# and Windows‑based environments
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops (especially pipelines)
- Proven ability to work independently and manage priorities
- API or integration testing experience
- Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, etc.)
- Experience testing systems under growth or high‑load scenarios
- Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure or AWS)
- Experience owning a technical function or domain
- True ownership (not siloed Dev Ops work)
- High visibility and impact across engineering and QA
- Opportunity to build and shape automation and performance practices
