Kentro is hiring for a Network Engineer to support the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) under the Enterprise Digital Applications and Technology (EDAT) program. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining network and system infrastructure supporting a Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) architecture. The ideal candidate will have experience operating in classified environments, deep knowledge of secure network design, and hands‑on expertise with CSfC components, layered encryption, and Zero Trust principles.
Location:
On‑Site in Fayetteville, NC
- Design, implement, and maintain CSfC‑compliant network architectures, ensuring adherence to NSA and DoD security guidelines
- Engineer and support secure systems and network infrastructure across classified and unclassified environments
- Configure and manage VPNs, firewalls, routers, switches, and encryption devices within CSfC solutions
- Integrate and maintain layered encryption solutions in accordance with CSfC Capability Packages
- Support system hardening, STIG implementation, and RMF compliance activities
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of mission‑critical systems
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to support Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) initiatives
- Maintain and update system documentation, network diagrams, and accreditation artifacts
- Support Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, including security control implementation and validation
- Participate in incident response, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring activities
- Provide technical guidance and support for network system upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) - Experience:
5-10+ years of experience in network and systems engineering within DoD or IC environments - Technical
Skills:- Network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF)
- Firewalls and network security tools (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V)
- Experience implementing STIGs, RMF, and DoD security controls;
Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, CASP+)
- Experience supporting USASOC, USSOCOM, or SOF environments
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and modern identity‑based security models
- Experience with cloud environments (Azure Government, AWS Gov Cloud) in classified or hybrid architectures
- Knowledge of cross‑domain solutions (CDS) and secure data transfer mechanisms
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, CASP+, VMware VCP)
- Experience working in SCIF environments
- Active Secret clearance required;
