Instead, the candidate focuses on guiding agencies to align technology with real-world operations ensuring readiness for upgrades, optimizing workflows, improving adoption, and driving long-term system success. Candidates in this role are expected to engage quickly with customers and operate as trusted advisors, often being embedded into customer environments early in the engagement lifecycle.
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years in technical consulting, enterprise systems for public safety technology environments.
- 5+ years of direct experience supporting public safety operations (Police, Fire, EMS).
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Dispatch systems and/or Mobile solutions in a live operational environment.
- Experience participating in or supporting go-live events and post-deployment optimization.
- Serve as the primary Computer-Aided Dispatch/Mobile SME and trusted advisor to enterprise public safety agencies.
- Develop a deep understanding of how agencies operate, including dispatch workflows, field operations, and command structures.
- Provide guidance that aligns system capabilities with real-world emergency response needs.
- Work directly with dispatchers, administrators, and leadership to identify operational gaps and recommend improvements.
- Apply strong consulting skills to influence decision-making, drive outcomes, and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
- Translate technical concepts into operational value for non-technical stakeholders.
- Act as a bridge between customer stakeholders and internal teams.
- Conduct system health checks, performance reviews, and environment assessments.
- Advise agency staff on maintenance activities (backups, replication, configurations) while ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements across SQL performance, GIS data, network infrastructure, and hardware.
- Identify risks proactively and guide agencies toward preventative solutions.
- Act as the central coordination point for CAD/Mobile issues during business hours.
- Triage and prioritize issues, escalating through support teams when needed.
- Manage support tickets end-to-end, ensuring resolution and clear communication.
- Collaborate closely with support, engineering, and product teams.
- Conduct pre-upgrade assessments, testing, and risk mitigation planning.
- Advise on system architecture, scalability, and high availability strategies.
- Engagement Model & Communication
- Develop and manage a Services Implementation Plan (SIP) outlining priorities, risks, and progress.
- Support multiple concurrent projects and customer initiatives simultaneously.
This is a Permanent position based out of High Point, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $131000.00 - $159000.00/yr.
