Machine Learning/ ML Engineer, AI Engineer (Applied/Software), Data Scientist
As a Manager, Data Science, you will be a subject‑matter expert defining projects and their execution, leading direct and indirect reports, and influencing and mentoring distributed teams in best practices and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of advanced AI and machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
- Collaborate with other data scientists and engineers to design, develop, and deploy AI solutions.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure AI solutions align with business goals and customer needs.
- Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trends that inform AI development.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay current with the latest AI and machine learning trends and technologies.
- Mentor junior data scientists and provide guidance on best practices.
- Drive best practices across data science functions.
- Set strategy and team direction, with a clear vision for Data Science.
- Work with product leaders to apply data science solutions.
- Evaluate and create new frameworks, define methodologies and governance.
- Lead small‑to‑medium‑sized teams (direct or indirect).
- Set a high bar for model development.
- Substantial experience in a senior data scientist role.
- Experience leading complex projects and customer relationships.
- Significant experience managing larger technical teams (direct or indirect).
- Experience mentoring or training others, acting as a subject matter expert.
- Natural problem solver, able to lead collaboration to resolve issues.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey information clearly to senior stakeholders.
- PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of people management experience.
- 10+ years of experience in AI and machine learning.
- Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, including deep learning, gradient boosting, and random forests.
- Experience with design and delivery of Agentic AI solutions.
- Experience with large language models and transformer‑based architectures (BERT, RoBERTa, T5, etc.).
- Working knowledge of recent LLMs (ChatGPT, GPT‑3.5, OPT, BLOOM, etc.).
- Experience with reinforcement learning, prompt engineering, hallucination mitigation.
- Understanding of business risks associated with applying LLMs.
- Experience with large datasets and distributed computing systems (Hadoop, Spark).
- Strong coding skills in Python or another programming language.
- Excellent communicator, able to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
U.S. National Base Pay Range: $115,400 - $192,300. Geographic differentials may apply to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
