Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Pacific International has been exclusively retained by a specialty chemical manufacturer in their search for an Operations Manager.
The company is seeking a hands-on leader to oversee all production operations at one of their top revenue-producing facilities. The site has a history of strong performance, and they are looking for a leader that can continue to drive excellence and help strengthen teams and future leaders.
Responsibilities- Ensures the site complies with all U.S. and corporate regulatory requirements, including OSHA, environmental, and personnel protection standards.
- Oversees operations to ensure safe, on-time, in-full production that meets quality, cost, and scheduling expectations to satisfy customer and business needs.
- Leads and enforces all safety programs and standards to protect employees and maintain safe working conditions.
- Directs and coordinates site activities to meet established goals, objectives, and policies.
- Actively supports execution of the production plan, taking ownership of the direct labor workforce, optimizing costs, and guiding long-term labor planning, succession planning, and organizational structure.
- Drives Continuous Improvement across the site by applying Lean Six Sigma tools and promoting ongoing learning for both self and team.
- Develops team members through coaching, training, performance reviews, and improvement plans.
- Supports new product introductions, implementations, and evaluations.
- Oversees budgeting and scheduling within areas of responsibility.
- Reduces costs through control of overhead, inventory, cost of goods, procurement initiatives, vendor management, and automation.
- Maintains regular communication with all stakeholders and ensures strong coordination across shifts and departments.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
- 7+ years of experience in engineering, operations, or manufacturing based roles.
- 4+ years of experience in a leadership position.
