What You’ll Do

The Transit Manager leads efforts to plan, direct, manage and oversee the activities and operations of the High Point Transit System (HPTS) including transit planning and transit operations; coordinate assigned activities with other City departments and outside agencies; and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Transportation Department Director. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring that our service runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Responsibilities include oversight of the City’s public fixed‑route and paratransit operations, managing regional Federal Transit Administration grants, and ensuring high‑quality public transit services for the community. Other responsibilities include federal, state, and local regulations (including ADA) compliance, and support continuous improvement in scheduling, routing, and customer experience. Supervision is exercised over all transit staff.

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities

The starting salary for this role is $86,045.44 with final compensation determined by the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
