Our High Point, North Carolina facility is a non AAA' union manufacturing plant with approximately 55 employees. The site specializes in producing polyurethane foam and other foam products. As a key location within FXI's manufacturing network, the High Point plant is known for its strong focus on quality, safety, and operational excellence. Team members work in a collaborative, supportive environment where continuous improvement and innovation play a central role.
JobOverview
The Material Handler (Foam Industry) is responsible for transporting, storing, and organizing foam materials, chemicals, and finished products within a foam manufacturing facility. This role ensures production lines remain fully supplied and that foam blocks, sheets, or components are handled safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Move large foam blocks, sheets, and finished products throughout the facility
- Stage foam blocks for cutting, fabrication, or shipping
- Label and organize inventory in designated storage areas
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory tracking systems
- Inspect materials for damage or quality concerns
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Move and scan material to the proper location in the work area.
- Maintain neat and orderly stacks of buns. Scan material to the correct location(s)
- Control and monitor inventories (buns, racks, & finished parts)
- Unload bun trailers on an occasional basis (if needed)
- Follow safety procedures, especially when handling chemical
- High school diploma or GED
- Forklift certification
- Ability to safely handle large, lightweight but bulky foam materials
- Basic math and inventory tracking skills
- Understanding of chemical handling safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to lift, push, or maneuver materials and stand for long
