About the role

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality production during second-shift operations. This role operates, monitors, troubleshoots, maintains, adjusts, and repairs production machinery with limited supervision. The technician serves as the primary technical resource on shift for equipment downtime, mechanical and electrical issues, process deviations, quality concerns, preventative maintenance, chemical batching, machine startups, and production documentation.

This individual must be comfortable diagnosing equipment problems, using hand and measurement tools, interpreting technical drawings or manuals, following lockout/tagout procedures, and escalating issues appropriately when outside their scope. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, electrically aware, safety-focused, calm under pressure, and capable of making sound decisions when immediate supervision is limited.

Location

This position will be based to work in our manufacturing location in High Point, North Carolina.

Responsibilities Machine Operation & Production Support
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot production machinery and processes.
  • Prepare chemical batches and complete production documentation and ERP updates.
  • Perform machine startups, process adjustments, and post-dip operations.
  • Support wastewater treatment and maintain SDS and raw material records.
  • Apply lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Respond to machine faults, downtime, and equipment issues on second shift.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and equipment adjustments.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and elevate complex issues when required.
Quality & Process Control
  • Inspect products and processes to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Identify process deviations and make corrective adjustments.
  • Document quality checks, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
  • Support training of new employees and promote adherence to procedures.
  • Participate in process improvement and root cause analysis activities.
  • Recommend improvements to safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
Administration & Safety
  • Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and SOP documentation.
  • Follow GMP, safety, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Support cross-functional operations as needed and perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing or production experience
  • High school diploma required; technical schooling / training in the trades as asset.
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
  • Valid passport as travel is required
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, GMP, and continuous improvement practices
  • Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read blueprints/CAD drawings and use hand tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/production systems
  • College or University Diploma / Degree in Engineering in the discipline of Manufacturing / Mechanical / Instrumentation & Electronics / Chemical, or related field is preferred
  • Engineering diploma/degree considered an asset
  • Experience with 5S, Kaizen, Net Suite, ISO standards, or textile manufacturing preferred
  • Welding, machining, and strong mechanical aptitude are assets
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and in team environments
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and urgency
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding manufacturing environments
