Job Summary
The Quality Technician is a key member of the Mebane Plant team. This role is responsible for leading the quality assurance and improvement efforts for the Insulation Production Lines.
Job Responsibilities- Maintain the manufacturing specifications in Aims for the production lines
- Complete required COA’s for customers
- Enter and manage quality complaints in the Lotus Notes QMS system
- Provide 8D’s and corrective actions to customers for quality complaints
- Complete the quality sections of the New Item Process
- Manage the non‑conformance process to provide timely disposition of products
- Active participant on WAM Q&PC Teams
- Create and maintain visual standards for the production lines
- Provide inspection of shipments as required by the customers
- Manage inventory of blocked material in SAP
- Conduct internal ISO audits per the plant audit calendar
- Manage the calibration of the inspection tooling on the production lines
- Create/Update SOP’s, OPL’s with the WAM format and in Qualtrax
- Lead quality improvement projects as directed by the PAP and WAM Q&PC Pillar
- Provide manufacturing and quality expertise to the Armacell Sales team and customers
- Associate’s Degree preferred or Quality related experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Ability to excel in a cross‑cultural, global team environment
- Possess professional written and verbal communication skills
- Possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Work independently and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Lotus Notes
- Ability to manage blocking and releasing of finished goods inventory in SAP
- Ability to manage documents and tasks within the Qualtrax system
- Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 standard and the ability to conduct internal audits
- Understanding of statistical process control and world‑class manufacturing techniques
- Knowledge of rubber processing: mixing, curing, extrusion and foaming
- Proven ability to lead effective teams and manage others
- Proven experience in creating technical solutions
