Need someone who is very strong with the tooling side Tool & Die Maker – Job Description

• Operate and maintain machines, tools, and equipment including:
• Vertical and horizontal mills
• Lathes
• Surface grinders
• Drills, saws, and assorted measuring tools
• Work with a variety of materials, including:
• Aluminum, mild steel
• Tool steels (A2, A6, D2, S7, O1, CPM
  10V, CPM M4)
• Brass, copper, stainless steel
• Plastics and phenolics
• Plan and execute all stages of toolmaking projects independently in a cost-effective manner, including:
• Milling, drilling, and grinding
• Heat treating
• Finish grinding and EDM
• Collaborate directly with engineers and technical personnel to:
• Modify tooling
• Build jigs, fixtures, and gauges
• Coordinate with external vendors as needed
• Take full ownership of product quality by identifying and eliminating non-conformances
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math

Experience

• Completion of a certified Tool & Die apprenticeship required
• Strong experience with injection molding is required
  , including:
• Understanding plastic flow during heating and mold filling
• Knowledge of mold cavity design and how tooling impacts the molding process
