Work Schedule:
1st Shift, Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for performing entry-level welding, fabrication, and repair work in support of manufacturing operations. All work is performed in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines. This role requires the ability to follow instructions, interpret technical drawings with supervision, and produce welds that meet structural and workmanship requirements. This is a contract-to-hire (Right-to-Hire) opportunity for 1 open position.
Primary Responsibilities:- Repair metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process.
- Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness and overall quality.
- Recognize and properly repair weld defects such as porosity, inclusions, undercut, penetration issues, pinholes, cavities, and blow-through.
- Perform Groove and Fillet welds in pipe and plate configurations across positions 1-5G and 1-3F.
- Review and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates, and microscopes.
- Inspect parts and finished assemblies for comprehensive quality assurance.
- Identify and troubleshoot errors, variances, or defects in the production process.
- Ensure all finished products strictly meet company specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Mechanical aptitude and an active interest in welding and metal fabrication.
- Willingness to learn, follow safety protocols, and accept professional coaching and feedback.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards.
- Reliability and the ability to work safely in a manufacturing plant environment.
- Ability to work independently with supervision as well as collaboratively with other team members.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Practical welding experience is required.
- MIG, TIG, and brazing experience is required.
