Requirements

The Sewer is responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to assemble and sew fabric, vinyl, and leather components for upholstered furniture. This position ensures that all products meet company quality standards, production timelines, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Operate industrial sewing machines to sew cushions, panels, welting, zippers, and other upholstery components.
  • Read and interpret work orders, patterns, and production tickets.
  • Assemble fabric and upholstery components according to specifications.
  • Inspect materials for defects prior to sewing.
  • Ensure stitching meets quality and durability standards.
  • Maintain consistent seam allowances and alignment.
  • Trim threads and inspect finished pieces for accuracy and appearance.
  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or material issues to supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Previous experience operating industrial sewing machines (preferred).
  • Experience in furniture or upholstery manufacturing (preferred).
  • Ability to work with various materials including fabric, vinyl, and leather.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to read measuring tools and follow written instructions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
