Carpigiani is seeking an experienced Production Planner to support manufacturing operations at our High Point, North Carolina facility.

The Production Planner plays a critical role in ensuring production schedules, materials, inventory, resources, and manufacturing capacity are aligned to meet customer demand and business objectives. This position works across Production, Purchasing, Sales, Engineering, and Logistics, serving as a key connection between customer demand and manufacturing execution.

The successful candidate will bring strong production planning and analytical skills, an understanding of manufacturing operations, and the ability to adjust quickly as priorities, material availability, and production requirements change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and execute production schedules based on customer demand, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules in response to material shortages, changing priorities, and operational constraints.
  • Coordinate with Production leadership to maintain efficient workflow and effective use of resources.
  • Balance production requirements with available labor, equipment, materials, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Communicate schedule changes and production priorities to appropriate teams.
Materials & Inventory Planning
  • Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools to generate and manage material requirements for manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor material availability and inventory requirements to support production schedules.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure materials and components are procured in time to meet production needs.
  • Help align inventory levels with production requirements while supporting efficient manufacturing operations.
Manufacturing & Engineering Coordination
  • Maintain and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support manufacturing accuracy.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) with Engineering, Purchasing, and Production.
  • Work cross-functionally with Production, Purchasing, Sales, Engineering, and Logistics to align manufacturing priorities and requirements.
  • Support assembly and industrial equipment manufacturing operations through effective planning and coordination.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor key production planning metrics, including schedule adherence, inventory levels, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Identify planning challenges that could affect production schedules or customer delivery expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to optimize manufacturing performance.
  • Use data and planning information to support effective decision-making across manufacturing operations.
Experience Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in production planning, materials planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting assembly or industrial equipment manufacturing operations is preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) principles.
  • Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • Knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing and assembly operations.

The ideal Production Planner is organized, analytical, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple departments.

Success in this role requires the ability to see the bigger production picture while staying attentive to the details that keep manufacturing moving. The Production Planner must be able to recognize potential scheduling or material challenges, communicate changes effectively, and adjust plans as business and production needs evolve.

This position is an important part of keeping production aligned with customer demand while supporting inventory management, resource utilization, and on-time delivery.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a general manufacturing environment with potential exposure to varying temperatures.
