Here is a link to the upcoming Zoom virtual Duke event on Monday, October 5th @ 6:30pm EST.
Ambassador/s are current student/s at HBCUs who drive registration and turnout by promoting the event through the channels their peers actually trust: social media (Instagram/Tik Tok stories, group chats), fraternities, sororities, clubs and business-org channels, and word of mouth.
This role is scoped to this one event and is paid per event, not on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities- Share the event registration link through social media (Instagram/Tik Tok stories, feed posts), class group chats, and relevant student organizations.
- Actively promote the “bring 5 friends” referral for the $200 Door Dash/Uber Eats gift card incentive.
- Post content promoting the event continuously until the day-of the event.
- Answer basic peer questions about the event, routing anything else to the Jump Start team.
- Report registration/referral numbers back to the team after the event.
- Currently enrolled undergraduate at an HBCU in North Carolina or nearby states.
- Active on social media (Instagram, Tik Tok, or similar) and comfortable posting to promote an event.
- Reliable with basic communication and light reporting (tracking registrations/referrals).
- Event-based, not ongoing.
- Roughly 5–10 hours total: social posts, shares/referrals in the 1–2 weeks leading up to the event, plus a short report afterward.
- The role ends once the event has taken place on October 5.
- Possibility to be engaged in another event.
$250–$500, paid as a project-based stipend after the event.
