Join a premier medical team within a large academic medical center (885 beds, Level 1 Trauma) known for its leadership in medicine, educational environment, and comprehensive patient care. This position immerses you in Units A and B, serving patients with diverse diagnoses-ranging from general medical conditions to specialized behavioral health-providing valuable exposure to different patient populations, medical technologies, and interdisciplinary practitioners.
As a part of a patient-centered, highly reliable department with a strong culture of teamwork, you'll have ample opportunities to collaborate, learn, and grow your skill set.
Schedule/Hours
- Travel assignment; details provided upon interview
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Telemetry nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required (CPI required for Unit B; can be obtained on site)
- Open to first-time travelers eager to learn and adapt
- Flexibility to work in both general medicine and behavioral health units
- Proficiency in direct/indirect nursing care, telemetry interpretation, and complex wound management
- Experience with chest tubes, trachs, PIV starts, PCA pump management, and critical medication drips
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in high-stress environments
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care for a varied caseload of medical and behavioral health patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (including 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist support)
- Engage in continuous learning and adapt to department needs, including floating to other Med Surg units as required
- Participate in rapid response and interdisciplinary patient rounds
