Description Of WorkThis is a repost. Previous applicants are currently under review and do not need to reapply. We are currently recruiting for a Nurse Supervisor II to function as a Clinical Nurse Manager at Central Regional Hospital (CRH) on the Forensic Services Unit, B0.
Responsibilities- Serve as a Clinical Nurse Manager at Central Regional Hospital on the Forensic Services Unit.
- Coordinate activities and provide clinical oversight of professional, vocational nurses, Healthcare Technicians and clerical staff assigned at the unit level.
- Hold 24‑hour responsibility for assuring the efficient and effective delivery of quality psychiatric and medical nursing care.
The Forensic Services Unit (FSU) is a three‑sectional unit serving the Pretrial/Maximum, Medium and Minimum‑security needs of court‑ordered patients. It provides services from all counties in North Carolina.
Key Units- Pretrial Evaluation Admissions (PTA) – 8 beds that admit males and females 18 years of age and older for capacity evaluations and other court‑ordered assessments.
- Forensic Maximum‑Security Unit – 22 male adult beds for patients with court orders and high‑risk or medically complicated needs.
- Knowledge of the Nursing Process, Psychiatric/Mental Health and Medical Nursing.
- Ability to create and maintain work schedules for all staff assigned.
- Ability to provide supervision, discipline and performance‑evaluation techniques.
- Ability to perform as a unit Charge Nurse when needed.
- Ability to plan, organize, direct and evaluate nursing care of patient‑care area.
Physical requirements include the ability to pass CPR, protective interventions (NVCI), lifting, kneeling, walking up and down stairs. Position requires a valid driver's license.

- A sign‑on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025‑2026 budget approval.
Full‑time position eligible for the full state benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, paid vacation, sick leave, community service leave and paid parental leave (for eligible employees).
Work HoursNormal work hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. with some rotation and holidays required, as well as 24‑hour responsibility for efficient and effective delivery of quality nursing service.
Maximum and ExemptionsThis position is exempt and exempt from certain provisions of the State Human Resources Act (GS 126). It is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Minimum Education and ExperienceLicensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina and have three years of nursing experience, including one year in a Nurse Supervisor capacity.
