Med/Surg - Beds: 36
- Current Census:
Approximately 33 patients/day - Patient Ratio:
- RN: 1:6
- LPN: 1:6
- CNA: 1:9–12
- General Medical/Surgical patients
- Post-operative patients
- Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
- Bariatric patients
- Hip surgeries
- Trauma surgical patients
- Bucks traction
- Similar patient population to 7 South
- Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience required
- First-time travelers not accepted
- BLS (Required)
- ACLS (Required)
- NIHSS (Required)
- General Medical/Surgical patient care
- Experience with CBI
- Post-operative patient management
- CNA support available
- ADLs
- Vital signs
- Ambulation/mobility
- Feeding assistance
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Charge Nurse:
Yes - Phlebotomy:
Yes - Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
- Hospitalist Coverage: 24/7
- Intensivist Coverage: 24/7
- Telemetry Monitoring Available
- EMR:
Epic / Encompass - Medication Dispensing:
Omnicell - IV Pumps:
Baxter (transitioning to Alaris in 2026) - Monitors:
Philips MX-40 - Additional Equipment:
- Specialty beds as needed
- Wound vacs as needed
- Lifting equipment
- Vital sign equipment
- Blood glucose monitoring devices
- Required to float to sister units:
- 7 North
- 7 South
- Similar Med/Surg patient populations, ratios, and expectations
- New Employee Orientation (Facility)
- 2 Days Unit-Specific Orientation
- Shift: 12-Hour Days
- Hours:
7:00 AM – 7:30 PM - Guaranteed
