Administers intravenous, general and regional anesthetics to render persons insensible to pain during surgical procedures, deliveries, or other medical and dental procedures. Provides comprehensive patient care management throughout the peri-anesthetic period.
Education And Credentials- Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State.
- Graduate of accredited nurse anesthesia program.
- Current NC CRNA verification.
- BCLS certification. If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), an AHA certification is required within three months of employment date.
- Effective May 4, 2015 newly employed Registered Nurses and current employees promoted to Registered Nurse positions are required to possess a BSN degree or enroll in an approved accredited BSN degree program within two years of employment or placement into RN position.
- The BSN degree must be obtained within five years of employment or placement.
- Incumbents in CVMC RN positions on the effective date will not be required to satisfy the BSN degree requirements to maintain current position or apply for other CVMC RN positions.
- Catawba Valley Medical Group (CVMG) RN positions are exempt from this BSN requirement.
- Master’s degree or higher. PALS certification.
- Required: No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbents should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment.
- Preferred: Two or more years of experience working in a hospital setting.
