Average Work Hours per Week: 24 hours

Assignment: DPS Prisons Administrative Services

• Provide professional nursing care and treatment in accordance with medical protocols.
• Work independently to carry out nursing processes for offenders arriving at the Sandy Ridge Bus Terminal on transfer buses.
• Oversee daily nursing care activities including administering medications and treatments as directed by physician.
• Ensure appropriate treatment and medical documentation.
• Work under the general supervision of a Lead Nurse or Nurse Supervisor.

Candidates must meet the minimum education and experience requirements listed in the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed are management preferences only.

• Documented knowledge in the principles and practices of nursing care.
• Documented knowledge in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Documented knowledge of medication and medical terminology.
• Documented knowledge in communicating information to patients related to treatment and patient care.
• Current, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
