American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a Joint Replacement Center unit requiring surgical patient experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

• Joint Replacement Center unit within a teaching hospital that is a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
• 24-bed unit with an average length of stay of 1.2 days
• Patient population includes total hip and knee replacement, bariatric surgery, urology surgical, spine surgery, and GYN procedure patients
• RN to patient ratio of 1:6 and CNA ratio of 1:9
• 12-hour day shifts from 7a-7:30p, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend, currently Mon-Fri with occasional Saturday need
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Minimal floating required, with potential to float to a medical surgical unit
• EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors used
• Support available from CNAs, charge nurse, phlebotomy, resource nurse, RT, hospitalist, intensivist, telemetry monitoring/tech, and rapid response RN as needed

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS for Resource Team)
• Minimum 1 year of recent core RN experience required within unit specialty area
• Experience with surgical patients required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Provide Med Surg/Tele nursing care to post-surgical and telemetry patients within a Joint Replacement Center
• Strong unit culture with 2-day departmental orientation in addition to facility NEO
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free on-campus parking provided
• Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible, as locals are not accepted
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
