Position Title
Quality Control Lab Technician – 2 positions available

Position Overview
A Quality Control Lab Technician performs complex and specialized quality control tests, assists in lab operations, and ensures product compliance with specifications. This role involves calibration and maintenance of equipment, coordination with production and R&D, and communication of results to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of complex and specialized quality control tests.
  • Run comprehensive lab tests that require judgment and interpretation of results within general guidelines.
  • Conduct complex calculations and analyses on test results to determine product compliance.
  • Provide direction to other lab technicians as required.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and testing guidelines; interact with daily operations to maintain a safe and effective lab environment.
  • Recommend technical formula or material adjustments based on test results and judgment; coordinate potential formula changes with corporate.
  • Operate, clean, maintain, and calibrate QC lab equipment; maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Coordinate activities with production, maintenance, technology, or other plant personnel to ensure effective production flow; communicate updates with R&D and production to maintain and update formulas.
  • Respond to customers and the commercial team regarding product quality, test results, and related information.
  • Review, complete, and maintain forms, logs, and reports detailing test results to ensure compliance with operational procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Five or more years of QC experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass the Color Hue Test.
  • Workstanding, stooping, and walking frequently.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends as required.
  • Strong prioritization and assignment of work.
  • Proficiency in comprehensive quality control test procedures.
  • Ability to use specialized QC laboratory equipment.
  • Understanding of basic product and general manufacturing processes.
  • Documentation of technical test results.
  • Calculation and review of technical chemistry formulas.
  • Determination of formula or material adjustments within parameters.
  • Reading and interpreting test results within guidelines.
  • PC skills:
    Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); SAP experience preferred but not required.
  • Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or equivalent education preferred.
