Overview

The Quality Inspector's main responsibility is to inspect, accept or reject work performed in a particular discipline in compliance with applicable Codes and specifications. Preferred discipline is mechanical or piping; however, structural, electrical, and civil may be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Actively support the Company's commitment to safety and its Core Values.
  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Provide specialized technical expertise in support of the Quality program, including specialized inspection and testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, quality tools for problem solving and assessment.
  • Create inspection reports stating the conditions of a work area to ensure requirements are met. Make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Apply knowledge of quality systems and tools to validate and verify contractually required standards for project execution. Implement principles of performance evaluation and prediction methods to improve product systems' safety, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Maintain quality standard of products and the procedures and materials that go into work scope. Aligns quality management function with the performance needs of product lines.
  • Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, perform assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field, displaying core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years' minimum experience in a specific craft or working under a formal Quality Management System.
  • 3 years' mechanical and/or piping experience preferred.
  • ACI certification preferred, and other discipline-specific inspection processes (e.g., AWS CWI, ASNT Level II, NACE, etc.) may be considered.
  • Should be familiar with ASME Sec. VIII, Sec. IX, B31.1, B31.3, API 650/653, 1104 Codes.
  • Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards and their impact on project activities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
