The Borg Warner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.
The Quality Engineering Intern will receive hands‑on experience in a leading automotive manufacturing environment and opportunities to contribute to meaningful quality improvement projects. They will be given the opportunity to develop technical, analytical, and project management skills with exposure to real‑world quality systems and cross‑functional teamwork.
Key Responsibilities- Development of and/or continuous improvement of support processes within the Quality and Warranty functions
- Development of process documentation within the Quality and Warranty functions
- Leading or assisting with statistical or Red X studies
- Integrating new quality tools, including data entry and/or data review
- Participating in 8D or problem solving activities
- Participating in customer or supplier meetings and visits
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Quality, or a related field
- Strong self‑learning ability and willingness to explore new tools, systems, and processes
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Detail‑oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
- Intermediate Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, charts, data cleaning)
- Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with document control systems or quality management software
- Familiarity with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) is a plus
- Basic understanding of Lean or Six Sigma tools
