MW Talent is partnering with a leading chemical manufacturer to hire a Product Development Chemist to join its research and development team in Moncure, North Carolina. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced resin technologies, support innovative product development initiatives, and contribute to research that directly impacts commercial manufacturing and future product strategy.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, independent thinking, technical problem solving, and research-driven innovation. The company is looking for someone who brings both strong industrial experience and an academic research mindset.
What You Will Do- Design, formulate, and optimize resin based chemical products
- Conduct laboratory experiments, wet chemistry testing, and product evaluations
- Work with formaldehyde-based resin systems and related polymer chemistries
- Analyze data, troubleshoot production issues, and support product improvements
- Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and Applications teams
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and project records
- Support research initiatives and contribute innovative ideas for future product development
- Maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and experimental design activities
- Master's degree in Chemistry required
- Strong laboratory, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong technical writing and communication abilities
- Experience working in cross-functional team environments
- Proficiency with MS Office and scientific or statistical analysis tools
- Ability to safely work with hazardous chemical materials
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of industrial experience in polymers, resins, or related chemical manufacturing environments
- Experience with formaldehyde-based resin chemistry
- Experience developing or working with formaldehyde replacement technologies
- Academic or research-based laboratory experience
- Knowledge of the design of experiments, project planning, and resin production processes
- Creative thinker with the ability to contribute ideas and solve technical challenges independently
- Leadership potential and desire for long-term career growth
